Terms of service
These Terms of Service (the ‘Terms’) set forth the conditions governing the use of product sales, membership services, information, inquiry services, and other services (collectively, the ‘Services’) provided through the KURA ONE® website (the ‘Site’) operated by ID10 Japan Inc. (the ‘Company,’ ‘we,’ ‘us,’ or ‘our’).
Any person using the Services (a ‘User’) must review and agree to these Terms before using the Services.
Article 1 (Application)
- These Terms apply to all relationships between Users and the Company concerning use of the Services.
- Our user guides, FAQs, product pages, Shipping Policy, Refund Policy, Privacy Policy, disclosures under the Act on Specified Commercial Transactions, and other notices and conditions posted on the Site (collectively, ‘Individual Provisions’) form part of these Terms.
- If these Terms conflict with any Individual Provisions, the Individual Provisions will prevail unless otherwise specifically provided.
- If the Company separately enters into an agreement, purchase order, quotation, or other written agreement with a corporation, store, sake brewery, municipality, regional business, or other business operator, the terms of that agreement will prevail over these Terms.
Article 2 (Services)
- The Services include the following:
(1) Sale of sake, sakeware, food, regional products, gift products, sets, and other products
(2) Provision of KURA ONE® Members
(3) Information and sales relating to Members-only products, limited-quantity products, selectable products, and other products
(4) Provision of information relating to products, sake breweries, regions, food culture, comparative tasting, pairing, and other topics
(5) Acceptance of inquiries concerning products, gifts, events, collaborations, and other projects for companies and retailers
(6) Acceptance of inquiries concerning collaboration with sake breweries, municipalities, regional businesses, and other business operators
(7) Services incidental or related to the foregoing
- Projects for companies and retailers, sake breweries, municipalities and regional businesses, and collaborations described on the Site do not constitute a guarantee that an individual contract will be concluded or that the project will be provided. Specific details, prices, quantities, delivery dates, rights, and other conditions will be determined separately through discussions between the Company and the other party.
Article 3 (Purchase of Alcoholic Beverages and Age Verification)
- Persons under 20 years of age may not purchase alcoholic beverages in Japan.
- When purchasing alcoholic beverages, Users must declare, by the method specified by the Company, that the purchaser is at least 20 years old.
- If the Company deems it necessary, we may request presentation of official identification or other materials that can verify age.
- If a User misrepresents their age when ordering alcoholic beverages or fails to comply with age verification, the Company may cancel the order, suspend shipment, suspend membership status, or take other necessary measures.
- Alcoholic beverages must not be purchased for resale, transfer, or proxy purchase for a person under 20 years of age.
Article 4 (How to Purchase)
- Users may purchase products available to guests without registering as Members. However, this does not apply to Members-only products, products for which Users may freely select the sake, or other products for which the Company specifies purchase conditions.
- Creating an account on the Site and registering for KURA ONE® Members are separate procedures. Merely creating an account may not provide access to Members-only products or other Members benefits.
- Before placing an order by the method specified by the Company, Users must review the product details, sale price, shipping charges, delivery conditions, payment method, return and cancellation conditions, and other matters displayed on the product page.
- For products where the User selects the sake, quantity, specifications, or other details, the selections confirmed by the User during the ordering process constitute the order details.
- When placing an order, Users must accurately enter their name, address, telephone number, email address, and other information specified by the Company.
- Except where caused by the Company’s intent or negligence, the Company will not be liable for any loss or disadvantage resulting from non-delivery, inability to contact the User, or other issues caused by incorrect or incomplete information entered by the User.
Article 5 (Formation of Sales Contract)
- Completion of the ordering process on the Site constitutes only an offer by the User to purchase the product.
- A sales contract is formed when the Company sends the User notice that the order has been accepted or that the product has been shipped.
- An automatically generated order-receipt email only confirms receipt of the order details and does not constitute acceptance of the order by the Company.
- Title to the product transfers to the User when the product is delivered to the User or a recipient designated by the User.
- For limited-quantity products, pre-order products, made-to-order products, Members-only products, selectable products, and other products, the individual conditions displayed on the product page apply.
- After an order is confirmed, changes to the product, sake, quantity, specifications, delivery address, or payment method, and cancellation of the order, will not be accepted unless separately approved by the Company.
Article 6 (Cancellation of Orders by the Company)
The Company may cancel an order, terminate a sales contract, suspend shipment, limit purchase quantities, or take other necessary measures, whether before or after formation of the sales contract, if any of the following applies:
(1) A product is out of stock, discontinued, or no longer produced.
(2) There is an obvious error in the price, inventory quantity, product description, or other information displayed on the product page.
(3) We cannot provide the product, sake, quantity, or specification selected by the User.
(4) Payment is not completed or authorization from the payment provider cannot be obtained.
(5) The User registers or enters false or inaccurate information.
(6) The product cannot be delivered due to an unknown delivery address, prolonged absence, refusal to accept delivery, or other circumstances attributable to the User.
(7) The Company reasonably determines that the purchase is for resale, redistribution, or commercial purposes, except where the Company has approved the purchase in advance by a company, retailer, or other business.
(8) The same User, or a person reasonably determined to be the same User, places unusually large or repeated orders exceeding the ordinary scope of use.
(9) The User is under 20 years of age or age verification cannot be completed.
(10) The User violates these Terms.
(11) Provision of the product becomes difficult due to natural disasters, transportation disruption, manufacturing circumstances, or other events beyond the Company’s reasonable control.
(12) The Company otherwise reasonably determines that accepting or continuing the order would be inappropriate.
Article 7 (Prices and Payment)
- Product prices are displayed on the product page or order screen.
- Consumption tax, shipping charges, refrigerated-delivery charges, payment fees, and other costs payable by the User are displayed on the Site, in the disclosure under the Act on Specified Commercial Transactions, or on the order screen.
- Users must select an available payment method from those displayed on the order screen.
- Use of credit cards and other payment methods is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable payment service provider.
- If a dispute concerning payment arises between a User and a payment provider or other third party, the User must resolve the dispute with that third party, except where the cause is attributable to the Company.
Article 8 (Shipping)
- Delivery areas, shipping methods, shipping charges, temperature ranges, shipment timing, and other delivery conditions are displayed in the Site’s user guide, Shipping Policy, product page, or order screen.
- Expected shipment or delivery dates displayed on the Site are estimates and do not guarantee shipment or arrival on any specific date.
- Delivery may be delayed due to weather, disasters, traffic conditions, carrier circumstances, busy periods, delivery to remote islands or certain areas, or other events beyond the Company’s reasonable control.
- Room-temperature, refrigerated, and frozen products may be shipped separately due to storage requirements or delivery circumstances. Shipping charges and other conditions in such cases are displayed on the product page, Shipping Policy, or order screen.
- If a product is returned or requires redelivery because of an incorrect address entered by the User, prolonged absence, refusal to accept delivery, or other circumstances attributable to the User, the Company may charge the User the return shipping charge, redelivery charge, and other reasonable costs actually incurred.
- If redelivery is not possible due to the nature or storage condition of the product, the carrier’s holding period, or other circumstances, handling will be governed by the Shipping Policy and Refund Policy.
- For international shipping, eligible destination countries, customs duties, import taxes, liquor taxes, customs-clearance fees, alcohol import restrictions, customs procedures, and other conditions vary by country or region. Specific international shipping conditions are governed by the international shipping information or a separate agreement.
- Unless otherwise required by law or separate instructions, obtaining import permits, paying customs duties and other charges, and completing other procedures required at the destination for international shipping are the responsibility and expense of the purchaser or recipient.
Article 9 (Returns, Exchanges, and Cancellations)
- Post-order cancellations, returns, or exchanges for reasons attributable to the User are not accepted unless separately approved by the Company.
- If a product is damaged, soiled, misdelivered, short in quantity, different from the order, defective in quality, or otherwise affected by a problem attributable to the Company, the User must contact the Company within the period specified in the Refund Policy or user guide after delivery, providing the order number and information showing the condition of the product.
- If damage, leakage, or another shipping incident is suspected, the User must not dispose of the product, container, sakeware, shipping box, presentation box, cushioning materials, or shipping label and must contact the Company or delivery carrier by the specified method.
- In the cases described in the preceding two paragraphs, the Company will review the product condition, inventory status, and other circumstances and respond by exchange, sending a replacement, refund, or another appropriate method.
- Alcoholic beverages, food, made-to-order products, personalized products, opened products, and other products unsuitable for return due to their nature cannot be returned or exchanged unless the cause is attributable to the Company or otherwise required by law.
- As a general rule, the statutory cooling-off system does not apply to online sales. Return and cancellation conditions are governed by these Terms, the Refund Policy, the disclosure under the Act on Specified Commercial Transactions, product pages, and the order screen.
Article 10 (KURA ONE® Members)
- KURA ONE® Members is a free membership service provided by the Company.
- Registration for KURA ONE® Members is separate from creation of an account on the Site. Registration for KURA ONE® Members by the method specified by the Company is required to use Members benefits.
- A person wishing to register for KURA ONE® Members must agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy and apply by the method specified by the Company.
- Registration for KURA ONE® Members is completed when the Company accepts the registration and approves treatment of the applicant as a Member.

- The details, eligible products, timing, quantity, validity period, number of uses, minimum purchase amount, combinability, and other conditions of Members benefits are displayed on the Site, on the coupon, or in notices from the Company.
- Members benefits are not guaranteed to be available at all times. Membership does not guarantee purchase of limited-quantity products.
- KURA ONE® Members status and the right to receive Members benefits may be used only by the registered individual and may not be transferred, loaned, sold, or succeeded to by a third party.
- If the Company introduces paid membership, subscriptions, points, credits, or other paid or continuing services in the future, the fees, billing cycle, services provided, renewal, cancellation, expiration, refunds, and other conditions will be displayed separately before application.
Article 11 (Members-Only Products)
- Members-only products may be purchased only by Users whom the Company can verify as KURA ONE® Members.
- Purchase conditions, purchase limits, sales periods, delivery conditions, and other terms for Members-only products are displayed on the relevant product page or in notices from the Company.
- The Company verifies eligibility to purchase Members-only products using the registered email address, customer information, or another method specified by the Company.

Article 12 (Management of Registration, Account, and Authentication Information)
- If registered information changes, Users must promptly update it by the method specified by the Company.
- Users who create an account are responsible for appropriately managing their registered email address, email account, one-time authentication codes, and other information used for login or identity verification (‘Authentication Information’).
- Users must not transfer, loan, or share their account or Authentication Information with a third party.
- Except where caused by the Company’s intent or negligence, actions performed using a registered email address and Authentication Information will be treated as actions of the User who registered the account.
- If a User becomes aware of unauthorized use of a registered email address, leakage of Authentication Information, or another matter affecting account security, the User must contact the Company immediately.
Article 13 (Refusal of Registration, Restrictions, and Termination)

Article 19 (Company Liability)
- If the Company causes damage to a User for reasons attributable to the Company, the Company will compensate the damage in accordance with applicable law.
- If damage to a User results from the Company’s ordinary negligence, the Company’s liability will, to the extent permitted by law, be limited to ordinary and direct damages actually incurred by the User.

Article 22 (Modification or Termination of the Services)
- The Company may modify or terminate all or part of the Services when there is a reasonable reason, including business necessity, changes in law, or improvements to the Services.
